Insurance Acceptance (in progress)

Nurture Path Development Center is currently in the process of insurance credentialing.

We are actively working to contract with insurance providers and will update this page as networks become available. Coverage and eligibility may vary by plan and location.

In the meantime, we are happy to discuss service options, documentation needs, and potential reimbursement pathways with families.

Insurance participation is subject to credentialing approval and individual plan benefits. Acceptance is not yet guaranteed.

Understanding Insurance Coverage

We’re committed to helping families understand their insurance options for ABA therapy. While many states have mandates related to ABA coverage, insurance benefits, eligibility, and provider participation vary by plan, state, and credentialing status.

For instance, fully funded insurance plans—where the employer and/or employee pays the premiums—must comply with both state and federal regulations. If your state mandates coverage for ABA services, these plans may be required to offer coverage subject to plan terms, provider credentialing, and medical necessity.

You can usually identify your plan type by checking your insurance card. If you receive insurance through your job, your human resources department can also help clarify your coverage details.

We’re Here to Help With Insurance

Navigating insurance and payment options can be confusing, and we know your energy is better spent caring for your family. That’s why our team is here to help. Complete our intake form or give us a call, and we’ll be happy to answer any questions you have about your insurance coverage and next steps.

Insurance coverage, eligibility, and reimbursement are subject to individual plan benefits and provider credentialing.

Certain life events can change your insurance benefits or eligibility:

  • Insurance participation is currently in progress. Coverage and eligibility are determined by the payer and may vary by plan.

  • Loss of health insurance coverage

  • A change in your insurance plan (for example, switching from an HMO to an HMO Plus, PPO, or EPO). Please note that provider participation and network status vary by plan and are subject to credentialing payer policies.

  • Updates to your policy number or group number

  • Loss of existing coverage, including employer-based, individual, or student plans

  • Loss of eligibility for Medicare, Medicaid, or other state-funded programs

  • Turning 26 and no longer qualifying for coverage under a parent’s commercial insurance plan

  • Turning 18 while enrolled in a Medi-Cal or Medicaid plan

  • Household or employment changes, such as starting a new job

  • Marriage or divorce, which may change whether your plan is considered primary or secondary

  • A death in the family, which may also affect primary versus secondary coverage

  • Moving to a new ZIP code or county, as Medi-Cal and Medicaid coverage varies by location

  • Income changes that affect eligibility for Medi-Cal or Medicaid

  • Insurance benefits and eligibility are determined by the payer and may change due to life events, plan rules, or state regulations.

Additional Funding Options

Beyond insurance coverage, there are other ways families may access funding for ABA services, such as:

Private Pay / Self-Funding
Some families choose to cover services out of pocket. If this option works for you, we’re happy to review available choices and create a plan that fits your needs. Families may also explore grants offered by nonprofit organizations that provide financial assistance. Private-pay services are not guaranteed to be reimbursed by insurance.

State-Supported Programs
Each state offers some level of support for individuals with autism. Our team can help guide you through available programs and explain how to apply.

When Additional Supports May Be Helpful

Nurture Path Development Center can support families in exploring additional services that may not be covered by insurance or for which a child may not currently qualify.

  • In-classroom support

  • Behavioral support services

  • Social skills development

  • Speech and language therapy

  • Occupational therapy

Some of these services are not currently provided directly by Nurture Path Development Center. When appropriate, we assist families with referrals, coordination, or guidance in accessing community-based providers.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Insurance coverage for diagnostic evaluations varies by plan and provider. Families can contact their insurance company directly using the member services number on the back of their insurance card to ask about coverage for diagnostic or assessment services.

Our team is happy to help guide families through general questions and next steps, but coverage decisions are ultimately determined by the insurance provider.

  • When a child has more than one insurance plan, one plan is considered primary and the other secondary. The primary insurance processes the claim first. Any remaining balance may then be submitted to the secondary insurance, depending on that plan’s benefits.

Coverage rules vary, and families are encouraged to confirm coordination of benefits directly with their insurance providers.

  • You can contact us by phone or through our intake form. Our team will respond as soon as possible to answer general questions and help guide you through next steps.

Insurance coverage, benefits, and payment responsibility are determined by individual insurance plans. Nurture Path Development Center does not guarantee coverage and encourages families to verify benefits directly with their insurance provider.
